Lexical

Lexical is the text editor inside Payload CMS. It is what you use to write and format articles, blog posts, and page content — like adding headings, bold text, lists, and links.

It looks and works like any other text editor. The difference is that Lexical stores the content as structured data in Json instead of messy HTML. This makes it easier for developers to style and display the content exactly how they want, and it keeps the website lightweight.

If you have ever used WordPress, the block editor works similarly. But Lexical is faster and more flexible.
